Tabby Booth
Tabby Booth Painting 'SWAN' in Antique Hand Carved Indian Dough Bowl
Original framed painting 'SWAN' by artist Tabby Booth.
Medium: Waxed Acrylic Sgraffito on Wood Board in an Antique Hand Carved Indian Dough Bowl
Size: 36.5cm Diameter (Including Frame)
Tabby Booth studied illustration at Central St Martins and is the co-founder of Cygnets Art School and Sailors Jail Gallery with her husband Hessy. They live near Penzance in the pink house at the top of the hill, with their two children Rudy and Ziggy, and dog Badger.
Tabby’s work uses a variety of mediums and styles, bound together by a love of texture and contrast. Whether this be layers of sgraffito oils on wood, or bright neon inks on rag paper, the result is always bold, and playful - made (as Tabby says) for the walls of bold, playful people.
Tabby’s subject matter is invariably focused on animals, and often their relationship to humans. As a captivating mix of the two, and with a personal and physical closeness to the sea, mermaids are a frequent feature.
